Mansoor
Hasan -
DJ
Mansoor
Hasan of Manchester (U.K.) was born in district Vehari (Pakistan). After earning
a Master’s degree in Urdu literature, Mansoor began working in agricultural
business. His passion for media and journalism compelled him to pursue a parallel
career along those lines as well.
His
frank and candid writings on the sensitive and oftentimes explosive issue of
“Honour Killings” have been much appreciated. He invests a lot of
effort and energy in his ongoing quest to do his part in eradicating this inhumane
social ill. He even has a website dedicated to this topic. His
regular segments on studying abroad provide a wealth of procedural information
and helpful tips for anybody planning to pursue their education in a European
country. Another popular item by him has been his public opinion gathering at
social and political events as well as specific interviews with prominent community
members. DRC looks forward to bigger and better things from him in the future.
Anis
Farooqui -
DJ
A
unique and sustained academic accent coupled with a robust verbal texture that
dominates his deliverance, affords Anis Farooqui, a distinguished status as
a contributing segment host at DRC.
He
is also the editor of Voice of Toronto, which is North America’s first
news website operated from Toronto.
A
keen observer of the social and political landscape, Anis Farooqui is a gifted
communicator and interviewer. He is a well-known media personality in the region
through his articles offering journalistic analysis and Op-Ed commentaries covering
Canadian politics. Voice of Toronto has now become a media partner of DRC, which
has resulted in increased popularity and visibility for both entities.
Arif
Baig -
DJ
Arif
Baig of Karachi (Pakistan) has been on board with Desi Radio Canada since this
project was little more than a dream in the eyes of its creator Yasin Baig.
Within two months, these two (unrelated !) “Baigs” were taking turns
introducing the new and fresh sound waves of DRC all over the world. Arif,
now, prepares and sends over his show for DRC from Karachi on a regular basis.
His distinctive style and songs selection is quite popular among our listeners.
Arif has a special place in his heart for Pakistani music and, as such, prefers
to include numbers from albums of Pakistani bands and musicians. Arif plans
to continue creating interesting and innovative melody-rich segments for DRC
in the future.
